Many people with elderly or extremely and terminally ill
pets will go to tremendous lengths to improve the quality
of their life. Alternative therapies may provide relief
from the animal's aches and pains with few side effects.
The options may seem to be few with the exception of pain
control, in cases of terminal cancer or arthritis in an
elderly pet.
Traditional western
medicine, such as surgery in a very old dog or a dog with
a severely compromised immune system, may be too invasive.
Yet, animals respond to touch and other types of bodywork
and non-invasive types of therapy. These provide invaluable
tools.
