Healing
Touch for Animals® (HTA) is a bio-field and energy-medicine
modality that supports the body to heal itself. HTA techniques
are used to help balance and clear an animal's energy system,
thus assisting the animal's body, mind, emotions, and spirit
to heal. HTA Practitioners employ various hand positions
and motions after developing an energy presence through
centering and setting intention of the highest healing good.
There is a flow of energy from Universal Energy through
the HTA Practitioner to the animal undergoing treatment.
HTA
is unique from other energy modalities in that the techniques
used were developed specifically for animals and works on
all species of animals. Even though a human's energy system
is similar to that of other species of animals, there are
differences that need to be taken into account, especially
the fact that animals are more in tune with themselves and
their environment and are much more sensitive to energy
work than most humans. For example, there are Healing Touch
techniques used on humans that are too invasive to be used
on animals.
Another
unique feature of HTA is that the use of tuning forks and
essential oils are addressed during the training. The HTA
Practitioner is taught how to use a basic set of tuning
forks to provide sound therapy and/or vibrational therapy
during an HTA session. The HTA Practitioner also receives
an introductory level of training on how to utilize essential
oils during an HTA session. During the essential oil training,
the HTA Practitioner is taught what oils to use when and
what oils should not be used at all on certain animals,
especially cats.
Carol
Komitor of Komitor Healing Method, Inc., combined her animal
knowledge and experience with energy medicine through studies
with Healing Touch, CranioSacral Therapy, Reiki-Master Level,
Light Body, massage therapies and private practice to develop
the HTA techniques. There are 4 levels of training as well
as a certification program. An HTA Practitioner is anyone
who has attended and successfully completed at least Level
1 of the HTA workshops. An HTA Certified Practitioner (HTACP)
is someone who has attended and successfully completed all
4 Levels of the HTA training as well as the certification
process. In addition, an HTA Practitioner adheres to the
HTA Code of Ethics and HTA Standards of Practice.
HTA
techniques help support an animal with injury and illness,
behavioral issues, stress-related issues, physical trauma,
emotional trauma, cancer support, surgery and recovery,
connection with people, competitions, palliative care, and
euthanasia. HTA treatment works cooperatively with traditional
and holistic veterinary care as well as with training or
behavioral counseling. There are no contraindications for
HTA techniques. In addition, HTA techniques can be performed
at a distance, which is ideal for working on animals that
do not allow human contact, or even long distance where
the HTA Practitioner and the animal receiving the HTA session
are not in the same area, since all HTA sessions are done
by setting the proper intention and accessing the Universal
Energy.
During
an HTA session, the HTA Practitioner will first talk with
the animal's guardian to get important background information
about the animal as well as information on any health or
behavioral issues. The HTA Practitioner will also find out
from the guardian the reason(s) for treatment to help the
HTA Practitioner determine the techniques to employ. Next,
the HTA Practitioner will assess the animal's energy system
by checking, at a minimum, the major Chakras to determine
where any blockages may be occurring. The assessment may
also include checking the Hara Line and some minor Chakras
for blockages. After assessing the energy system, the HTA
Practitioner will utilize the HTA techniques she/he feels
is needed based upon the results of the assessment and the
reason(s) for treatment. After applying the chosen HTA techniques,
the HTA Practitioner will reassess the animal's energy system
and review the results with the animal's guardian.
